Football Card Box Breaks
For chances at pulling Penn State autographs that I would need for my collection at a small price, I've decided to start running box breaks (Explanation at bottom of page).

HOW IT WORKS
- Each "spot" is the same price and that price will be determined by the amount of people who join the break. You can see the current price per spot above the list of teams below. Each time a team is reserved and marked RED, that price will drop (because costs are divided evenly among the number of spots taken). Alternatively, "spots" might be a fixed amount, and the break won't take place until there are enough participants to cover the costs of the break. The price will be marked whether or not it is fixed above the list of teams below.
- From the list of teams below, you can select one team or combine multiple teams to form a "spot" so their units total 15. This is because some teams will yield less or more cards than others. For example, for the price of one "spot" you can combine a bunch of small teams with small unit values so their total units equal 15. You can just take a team that is less than 15 units if you wanted to but you will still pay the full "spot" price. If you select a team with a total units of 15, that is the only team you will be able fit into one "spot". If you need more clarification, please contact me.
- Teams in YELLOW are being held for participants from the last break until they release them or confirm they want to reserve them again. If no contact is made within one week of the announcement of the new break, they will become available. If you are interested in one of those teams, contact me and I will try to confirm sooner whether that team will become available or not.
- Teams in RED are already purchased or reserved. If you are interested in a team that is reserved, let me know and I can put you in line. If they happen to be unhappy with the final spot price, I will ask the next person in line if they'd like to purchase that team.
- All cards pulled from the box or packs that are of teams who are unpurchased will be randomly given away to the participants in the box break. That will be done using random.org. You can see that process at the end of the video below titled "2012 Upper Deck Football 2 Box Group Break - Randomizations" below. This is the reason for using units. When you pay for one spot, you'll be entered one time for the randomization of the extra cards. If you purchase two spots, you'll be entered two times for the randomization of the extra cards etc.
- If you are interested in participating, please contact me.
- I am also willing to do box breaks of older products as well. If you are interested in a particular year or product, contact me and I'll consider it for a future break.

To Enter:
Contact me and let me know which teams you are interested in. You can combine teams from the list so their units equal or are less than 15.
See above for the product checklists.
Prices:
Prices will either be determined after we see how many people are interested in the break or there will be a fixed spot price. Each spot will cost the same amount and each "spot" gives a person one randomization chance. You can see what I mean in the third video on the left.
The current price of the break will be listed above the list of teams below. It will change and be updated each time a spot is taken unless it is fixed. You do not have to pay for the spot right away but rather "reserve" it. Since the price will change each time a spot is reserved, it wouldn't make sense to pay until we were about to do the break. If the spot price is a fixed price, you can pay at any point, or wait until the break is full. You'd be responsible for any fees associated with the payment. Contact me if you'd like to join or if you have any questions.
Multiple Boxes or Packs:
If by chance enough teams are sold that we have more money than it costs for the stated number of boxes, shipping, and supplies, then I will purchase extra hobby packs from my local card shop of the same product. If that isn't an option, everybody will be refunded a proportionate amount that would be equal to the amount left over.
Randomizations:
Every card that is pulled from a team that went unpurchased will be randomly given away. Every card pulled in the box will be distributed. None will be kept for myself unless I receive them randomly. You can see that process in the last video on the left.

Explanation
If you are unfamiliar with what a box break is or how it works, I will explain. Different people purchase different teams. In our case, it would be college teams. I open up a box of cards, on camera, and anything that comes out of that box of the team you purchased is yours and I mail it to you.
That's how a normal box break is run but mine will be a little bit different. Normally any cards of teams that went unpurchased would be kept by me (or whoever did the break) but instead, I would randomize all of the extra cards off to the participants in the box break. Sometimes I will not allow top teams to be purchased so people can't get the top cards for the same price everybody else is paying for their favorite teams. This will also sweeten the pot as any top cards that are pulled will go randomly to the box break participants, myself included.
Once enough teams are purchased to cover the cost of the box, shipping and supplies, the box will be purchased, broken and cards distributed. The entire break will be filmed and put on YouTube. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them. Contact me here.
To see an example of how things are run, you can view videos of previous breaks near the top of this page.
